Another artist whose work I really love and who inspires me is Ivan Belikov. Ivan is a Russian designer from Chelyabinsk, and is an awesome illustrator, who is skilled in digital and traditional mediums. He works mainly in Adobe Illustrator, using the brush tool, and focuses on nature motifs, with his illustration portfolio heavily featuring animals, both real and mythological. (more…)

Coming from a very digital based artist in my last post, this blog focuses on a much more hand-crafted and tactile designer. Derrick Castle is a designer/illustrator from Nashville, Tennessee, and works primarily with block printing. He has worked with many worldwide brands such as NIKE, Harley Davidson and Miller Highlife, and designs heavily illustrative graphic design work. Straw Castle is Derrick’s personal brand where he designs t-shirts, embroidered patches, and original block prints. (more…)

An artist whose work I really love and who inspires me is Orlando Arocena, who’s known as Mexifunk. Orlando is a Mexican-Cuban-American designer from New York, and is a master of working in Adobe Illustrator. He works with the worldwide collective of artists known as PosterPosse, and designs mainly illustrative posters for movies and pop culture characters. (more…)

Infographica is a book full of interesting data from around the world, presented as 100 unique infographics. The book contains a diverse collection of graphic visual representations of trivia, including facial hair styles of famous dictators, the bite strength of different animals and the world’s most expensive weddings. Despite the huge range and depth of some of the information that is included, it is the strength of the graphic design in the infographics that helps to communicate the information simply and clearly.
